The annual event, which supports breast cancer care and research at the WVU Cancer Institute, will be held on March 2, 2024.
The WVU Women’s Soccer 4-Versus-4 Breast Cancer Tournament is an annual event welcoming three-person teams (with an option for four) from the community to sign up and play with a Mountaineer athlete at the WVU Soccer facilities in Morgantown. The event will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024.
The 4v4 tournament, which aims to increase awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer, has helped WVU Women’s Soccer donate more than $150,000 to the WVU Cancer Institute Betty Puskar Breast Care Center over the past 15 years. The co-ed event has age divisions for kids in grades 3-8 and an open division for college-age and older. (Due to NCAA regulations, individuals in high school are not allowed to participate.)
The entry fee for each three-person team is $100. The four-person option costs an additional $25. To sign up for the tournament, complete the registration form.
The deadline to register for this event is Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
Coach Nikki Izzo-Brown and WVU Women’s Soccer encourage all women to talk with their doctor about scheduling an annual mammogram. For more information, visit the WVU Cancer Institute’s breast cancer treatment webpage.
